Unique Customs

Pre-wedding dos and don'ts

Don't
Don't schedule your bachelor/bachelorette party the night before the wedding. You don't want a hangover on your wedding day.
Just before D-Day don't have any alcohol. Limit yourself to a glass of wine or champagne. Instead, drink plenty of water - it will make you feel and look good for your wedding day.
Don't drive if you've had too much to drink!
Don't eat spicy foods or rich, heavy desserts. They may give you indigestion.
Don't try to do "everything" yourself. Delegate responsibilities to your fiance, your parents and to members of your wedding party.
Don't get involved in other activities just the day before your wedding.
Don't over do it! The day before the wedding is not the time to begin packing for the honeymoon.

Do
Do spend some quiet time alone to meditate or visualise your wedding day.
Do eat, don't just nibble. Eat well, you'll need plenty of energy for the day ahead.
Do maintain a sense of humour. Do spend time with people that are close to you... your parents, your bridesmaids or your fiance.
Do try to spend some time with each of your personal guests at home before the wedding, for a change for sometime.
Do schedule de-stressors for yourself whether it's a massage, facial, manicure, etc.
Do something you enjoy that relaxes you, such as reading a book or listening to soothing music.
Do go to sleep early and sleep well. This may be difficult with all of the excitement, but it will help to look fresh on the D-day.
