Once, your wedding date and venues are finalised, booking a photographer/video shooting has to be the next important detail on your checklist. It is very important to select a photographer on the basis of his portfolio. Carefully examine each photographer's past work. What you need to check is whether the lighting used is effective, photos are over or underexposed and photos are framed well.
One can ask for quotations from 2 to 3 photographers and choose the one which suits your budget and requirement.
Also instruct the photographer in advance about all the important clicks during the wedding. In case he doesn't know the rituals properly, someone should be assigned to guide him during the wedding.
A good picture quality has to be our main concern. Keeping this in mind, check the portfolio, the kind of camera, rolls the photographer would be using etc. Normally, a photographer will charge for a minimum of 2 to 3 rolls per function. The approximate cost per photo varies from Rs. 18 to Rs. 100 depending on the size. Usually wedding pictures are preferred to be of the normal size
i.e. 5" x 7". Enlargement are charged per copy.
Check out the album that the photographer is providing, as the total presentation in the end should be very creative.
Videography charges depends on the number of video camera used and are charged on hourly/per day basis. The entire film is normally shot on DVD and can be converted on a CD as per the requirement. Additional copies are charged extra.
